"oh so if it's cheap someone's gonna buy a fucking twelve acre lot for 25 million dollars?! i'm fucking losing money that way!" this was insane. he didn't have time to hang around and talk to this bullshit bastard about pricing! lucifer had been born in that house, raised in that house, learned to walk, talk, chew, puke, shit, and fuck in that house. although his home also carried very painful memories, one could not just part with their home for 25 million dollars!
of course, his swearing wasn't a great addition to his anger seeing as his three year old daughter was playing with her building blocks, glancing quite nervously over at her father every now and then. when luc was mad, he was very mad, and his voice carried over the hills and through the woods. the man had a very big, booming voice like his father. and oh, how luc wanted to differentiate himself from that evil, twisted bastard. even more unfortunately was the fact that this house-seller guy made his blood pressure skyrocket, and that was never good for the evil demons lurking within luc's mangled soul. lucifer emery stormed around the room, bumping into things, almost stepping on his daughter, and nearly broke his neck tripping over the carpet. seriously, if this stupid dude on the phone could see the trouble luc was going through just to stay alive maybe he'd have the house at 500,000,000 dollars.
well, he did have a small meeting at work to attend, and leaving sophia along with priceless and expensive material wasn't exactly the best idea in the world. she broke a vase last time luc left her without a babysitter. they didn't have maids or cooks and the only person sophia interacted with was her father. luc was a bit distrusting of the outside work force. knowing they were poor and probably sleeping in cardboard boxes under the gutter wasn't exactly his idea of living the good life. plus--they spent all their money on booze and drugs, so who wanted to hire shit like that? sophia's life was at drastic contrasts with luc's childhood, surrounded by maids, cooks, servants, and even sex slaves his father rescued from third world countries. because luc didn't trust anyone without a Lamborghini parked in their garage, he decided he'd learn how to be self-sufficient. of course, this wasn't saying much as he continuously burnt his salad... he just couldn't get it to look like the picture in the book.
the doorbell rang, and with the receiver still at his ear luc stumbled over to the door, swinging it open and almost paying no attention to the little girl standing on the steps. "you know what, maybe i'll just sue you for CHEATING ME!" shouted luc, waving a hand at the girl to enter. sophia squeaked and ducked her head, trying to concentrate on her toys and not her father's raging temper. luc stopped, took a deep breath, and cut the man off before he could continue to apologize: "yeah? i hope i don't have to hear from you again either, AND DON'T CALL ME AGAIN!" with that, luc grabbed the phone and smashed it down on the vintage rotary dial. he whirled around, glaring at her for a second, and then his face lit up in the happiest smile known to man. "hi!" squeaked lucifer, walking up to her cheerfully. "you must be the babysitter?" his eyes were gentle, caring, he didn't exactly pat her on the back or shake her hand. she had poor-people germs and luc knew from experience they were contagious and incurable.

Sometimes people called her up for information on a gangster or god forbid one of those ridiculous organizations call up for more dangerous information. However the easiest jobs were the kinds civilians suggested, like if their boyfriend was cheating on them, it was just easier to get access to civilians than it was to get to a Commander in Crisis Core or the mob boss of LA. Its not like Joey was invincible, she was risking her neck as much as a normal person was following some of these people. Luckily this job wasn’t going to be dangerous. Somebody just wanted to know if some model had done anything wrong in their past. Joey was guessing that somebody just wanted blackmail material and they were offering a very generous amount of money in exchange for that information. What was even better about this job was that she had an easy way of getting to the guy. After doing some research she found he was looking for a babysitter, even better she could get paid by him and the anonymous e-mailer.
What made this even better was that Joey had experience with children. Being the oldest of eight children Joey practically raised her younger siblings. So the fact that the front to get close to this guy was doing something she was good at just made this entire gig even easier. Seriously this was probably going to be the quickest cash Joey will ever make at such an amount. All she had to do was touch the guy and be able to see every dirty little detail of his past and cash in on the information that was relevant. Joey always found it was easier to give only the information asked for so she could use the other parts for later use, like blackmail or if somebody else by chance needed to know something about the same person.
Joey wasn’t nervous at all, why should she be she’s done this job a million times? However as she parked her car in front of the huge ass mansion and heard yelling echoing around the house Joey was a bit nervous. What the hell could this guy be yelling at so damn loudly? Seriously the only time Joey has heard someone yell that loud was one time she was snooping on the ring leader of a drug circuit and overheard him ripping some punk a new one for losing some of his drugs… yeah Joey has seen some crazy things for just being a seemingly “normal” twenty year old girl.
When she got to the door she wasn’t sure if she really wanted to ring the doorbell but just looking at the mansion made Joey remember why she worked so much. She didn’t want to be poor like she was growing up, she wanted to make her own money and have everything she dreamed of having. Buying her car was a step towards that, the next step for her would to be hopefully to graduate from school and buy a kick ass studio style apartment and if college didn’t work out well just skip that step because lately the latter was looking like the most likely scenario.
Joey finally rang the doorbell and when she did she heard the yelling get closer and then the door opened to reveal a very attractive shirtless man with a phone in his hand. Daaamn Joey thought as she walked in when after he waved her in. The damn was because one he was really fucking hot and two because he was yelling like a maniac. Joey stood there staring at him with a what-the-fuck kind of look on her face until he hung up the phone, no more like pulverized the phone onto the old ass phone thing. Looking over Joey just saw a little girl playing with some blocks obviously trying not to get in the way of her father… interesting.
Now what was even more interesting was that when the guy turned around from slamming the phone down he looked like the happiest person in the world. Da fuuuuck Joey thought really confused by this guy. Maybe there actually was a reason somebody wanted this guy checked out to see if he has done anything bad in his past.
Hey… Joey said giving him a skeptical look because she thought that he was probably faking this whole happy thing. Yup I’m the babysitter, Joey. So am I babysitting you or…? Joey said sarcastically. Obviously she was going to be babysitting the little girl but by the looks of it this guy needed more watching than the little girl did.
